Kuster campaigns here in advance of official announcement
BERLIN – U.S. Congressional hopeful Ann McLane Kuster brought her Granite State Values Tour to the Androscoggin Valley yesterday and Sunday.
Kuster had breakfast Sunday morning at Tea Birds Restaurant, stopped at the Berlin Fire Station, and attended a house party. Yesterday, she met with White Mountains Community College President Kathy Eneguess, greeted patrons at Dunkin Donuts, and visited with diners at Berlin Senior Meals.
Kuster said she is in the midst of attending 30 house parties in 30 days as she readies for another run for the Second District Congressional seat currently held by Charlie Bass.
On Thursday, Kuster said she will officially announce she is running for the Democratic nomination for the seat. She ran for the position in 2010, narrowly losing to Bass in the general election by 3,551 votes.
Kuster said she took a few months off from politics after her 2010 run. But she said she watched as Bass voted for measures she felt were not in the interests of “hard-working New Hampshire families” and decided to make another attempt. She has spent the last year gearing up for a second run – raising the necessary resources and hiring staff.
