Concord Monitor: Kuster announces $720,000 raised

Published in the Concord Monitor on October 6, 2012.

Second District congressional candidate Annie Kuster raised more than $720,000 between July 1 and Sept. 30, her campaign announced in a news release yesterday.

“I am grateful to the thousands of Granite Staters who have given their time and resources to this campaign,” Kuster, a Hopkinton Democrat, said in a prepared statement. “From day one, this has been a grassroots effort powered by ordinary people from all across New Hampshire who know that I will be a tireless advocate for hardworking middle-class families.”

Her campaign hailed the numbers as a sign of momentum in her race against U.S. Rep. Charlie Bass, a Peterborough Republican who beat her by 3,500 votes in 2010.

In the reporting period, 15,000 people donated to Kuster’s campaign, according to the news release. The average contribution was $38 and 82 percent of donations came from individuals.
