Kuster Stands Out As Moderate Voice For Seniors and Middle Class at WBIN Debate
Congressman Bass Distorts His Record, Stands By Radical Ryan Budget
CONCORD, N.H. – In a televised debate hosted by WBIN-TV, Congressional candidate Annie Kuster distinguished herself as a strong voice for New Hampshire’s middle class and seniors, while Congressman Bass failed to defend his record of voting against the interests of families during his almost 20 years in Washington.
After being pressed repeatedly on his support for the radical Ryan budget, Congressman Bass was unable to explain why he twice threw his support behind a plan that ends Medicare as we know it, guts investments in education and innovation, and gives tax breaks to millionaires at the expense of the middle class. This stood in stark contrast to Annie Kuster, who demonstrated her commitment to putting politics aside to stand up for New Hampshire families and seniors.
“Tonight’s debate illustrated the clear choice voters face in this election,” said Rob Friedlander, Annie Kuster’s Communications Director. “Congressman Bass is a career politician who has been named one of the most corrupt members of Congress. He and this Tea Party Congress continue to double-down on a plan that would end Medicare as we know it and slash investments in the middle class. Annie has a proven record of putting politics aside to do what’s right for New Hampshire’s working families, and she is committed to protecting Medicare and Social Security, focusing on creating jobs, and investing in priorities like education and innovation.”
