Nashua Telegraph: Candidates talk importance of farms

TEMPLE – The health of the agricultural community requires cooperation between farmers and the government.

That was the message Democratic candidates running for state and federal office gave those who turned out Monday evening for a discussion on the needs of local farms and the importance of food accessibility and land conservation.

Ann McLane Kuster of Hopkinton, Democratic candidate in the 2nd Congressional District, said, “The New Hampshire Advantage is communities coming together to get things done.”

She called herself “pro-environment and pro-conservation,” and said the preservation of farms is a priority “to keep those farms going.”
