KUSTER CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES INITIAL LIST OF 40+ CURRENT AND FORMER REPUBLICANS FOR ANNIE

CONCORD, N.H. – The Kuster campaign today released an initial list of more than forty current and former Republicans supporting Annie’s candidacy in the Second District.

The list includes supporters from Peterborough and Amherst to Lancaster and Hudson, and underscores Annie’s support among Granite Staters from both parties who are tired of the political games and gridlock that have ground Washington to a dysfunctional standstill.

“Annie can work with anybody – Republican, Democrat, or Independent,” said Dr. Jim Squires, a former Republican State Senator from Hollis. “She has a proven record of solving complex problems by carefully considering all views and generating consensus, which is exactly what we need in Congress right now.”

Richard Hamilton of Littleton added, “I’m a lifelong Republican, but I’m tired of all the endless bickering we see in Washington these days. I’ve known Annie and her family for many years, and I’m confident that she will go to Congress to represent New Hampshire and bring people together to get things done.”

“I’m grateful to have the support of so many Republicans throughout the district who know that we need a commonsense approach in Washington that puts the interests of middle class families ahead of party and ideology,” said Kuster. “I’ve spent more than 25 years bringing people together from different parties and professions to solve problems in our communities. That’s always been the New Hampshire way, and that’s the approach I will bring to Congress every single day.”

As the Kuster campaign demonstrated its broad support across party lines, the Bass campaign released its first ad of the campaign, which relies on misleading attacks against Annie.

“It’s sad that after nearly 14 years in Washington, Congressman Bass has no record to run on, just false attacks,” said Rob Friedlander, Annie Kuster’s Communications Director. “Annie is running a campaign based on fixing Washington and moving our country forward, which is why she continues to earn the support of Republicans, Independents, and Democrats across New Hampshire.”

The initial list of current and former Republicans for Annie, which will be updated over the coming weeks and months, features many New Hampshire notables, including: Hilary Cleveland, New London, Colby-Sawyer College professor and wife of former N.H. Congressman Jim Cleveland; Ralph Hough, Grantham, former N.H. State Senate President; Dr. Jim Squires, Hollis, former N.H. State Senator and Republican candidate for Governor; Sherry Young, Concord, former Legal Counsel to Governor Judd Gregg; Rep. Jim Pilliod, Belmont, current Republican N.H. State Representative; and Merle Schotanus, Grantham, and Paul Spiess, Amherst, former Republican N.H. State Representatives.
