From house parties to campaigning with the Vice President, it’s been a big two weeks on the Kuster for Congress campaign! Here are some of the highlights:
Campaigning with the Vice President
On Tuesday May 22nd Annie joined Vice President Joe Biden for his visit to the Granite State, including campaigning with him at the Peterborough Diner, a Peterborough institution. Here’s Annie meeting supporters with the Vice President:
Endorsements
Over the course of this campaign the breadth of support we’ve received has been overwhelming, and in the last two weeks we’ve received the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers New Hampshire and the New Hampshire AFL-CIO. According to Mark MacKenzie, President of the NH AFL-CIO:
“Annie is a fighter and we know that if we send her to Congress she will stand up for New Hampshire’s hard working families. We need to send Annie down to Washington to fight for us and the interests of the middle class.”
The New Hampshire Democratic Party Convention
On Saturday Annie was joined by hundreds of people from across the Granite State for the New Hampshire Democratic Party Convention.
Judging from the energy in the room we have the people-power to meet any challenge we face — and Annie’s speech raised the roof!
The Granite State Values Tour in the North Country
On Sunday we travelled up to the North Country to start two days in Berlin. We began our day at Tea Birds Cafe, where we met the owner Scott Gregory. We had breakfast with some of our longtime supporters — including the wonderful Chuck Dodge, who was a fantastic volunteer for us in 2010 and is fired up for 2012! Here’s Annie with Scott and supporter Mike O’Neill:
Next up we visited the fire fighters, who gave us an update on local issues including housing needs and new businesses starting in the area. Annie then continued to a house party at the home of supporter Laura MacPherson, where we were joined by Chair of the Coos County Democrats Brian Bresnahan, and candidate for New Hampshire Senate Jeff Woodburn. Here’s Annie with Laura and her two daughters, Mariah and Becca, who are passionate about student loans and protecting women’s healthcare:
On Monday morning Annie met with Kathy Eneguess, President of the White Mountain Community Technical College. She updated us on their terrific progress, including just graduating their largest class yet! They are also committed to keeping tuition low, and have kept it at the same level for the past three years.
This brought us to our last stop at the Berlin Senior Center, where Annie was joined by Rep. Gary Coulombe and Rep. Robert Theberge:
Thank you!
A huge thank you to everyone who made the last two weeks possible - from our wonderful house party hosts to the interns and volunteers who filled the office each day. This is a people powered campaign, and it is made possible by your support.
In the weeks ahead we’ll continue to build our grassroots presence across the district, and we need your help to succeed! Click here to find out more and get involved.
