(Claremont, NH) - Yesterday, Congresswoman Annie Kuster visited Claremont, New Hampshire to meet with community leaders and business owners to discuss their COVID-19 operations. Kuster was joined by Executive Councilor Mike Cryans.

Kuster hosted a press conference on voting at the Claremont City Hall and also toured:

  • Claremont Fire Department

  • Ink Factory Supply

  • The Claremont Makerspace

"The rise of the COVID-19 pandemic has posed a major challenge for our country and our state," said Annie Kuster. "But the strength and resilience of our community has been so inspiring. It was incredible to meet with the Claremont Fire Department, Ink Factory Supply, and the Claremont Makerspace yesterday to talk about their COVID-19 operations. Throughout this crisis, we have relied on our firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement, and it's essential that we ensure they have the personal protective equipment necessary to keep themselves and their families safe. As we continue to build back from this pandemic, we also must support our small businesses so they can keep on their staff and continue to find innovative ways to maintain operations. I'm so proud to fight for the Granite State in Congress, and I look forward to continuing to support our first responders, small businesses, and our communities."

“It was great to have the congresswoman stop by and take an interest in our business and how we have been affected by the pandemic," said Jeff Barrette, owner of Ink Factory Supply. "She asked really probing questions about how the PPP helped and let us know that Congress is working to streamline the loan forgiveness. Her efforts to help NH businesses do not go unnoticed. I really appreciate the job she is doing for us.”

"COVID-19 created a major challenge for our organization," said Brendan Dangelo, Director of Education and Workforce at the Claremont Makerspace. "But thanks to support from our community and our elected representatives, we've been able to make it through. The Paycheck Protection Program and COVID-19 relief was a huge help to our business, and it was great to talk to Congresswoman Kuster about her work supporting small nonprofits like ours in Washington, and about how we have worked to stay open during this pandemic."
