Supporters Join Kuster to Discuss Priorities for Re-Election
(Concord, NH) - Today, Congresswoman Annie Kuster (NH-02) joined with Granite State supporters to discuss her re-election campaign and the priorities of people in New Hampshire. Kuster has dedicated her Congressional career to bridging the partisan divide in Washington to deliver results for the people of New Hampshire's Second District.
Kuster was joined by:
State Senator Cindy Rosenwald: State Senator for New Hampshire's 13th District
Ph.D. Philip Huckins Ph.D. of Keene, NH: Retired teacher of thirty-five years, including twenty-five years at the post-secondary level, and US Air Force veteran (1977-1981)
Dr. Vasuki Nagaraj, MD, MPH: Family Physician in Nashua, NH
Jeff Barrett of Claremont, NH: CEO of Ink Factory and Vegataball; Sullivan County Commissioner
“Granite State families deserve a representative who will fight for them every single day and that is exactly what I have done in Congress,” said Annie Kuster. “By focusing on bridging the divide between Republicans and Democrats, I have been able to deliver real results for the people of New Hampshire. The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a real challenge for our state but Granite Staters are resilient and have worked hard to support our communities through this pandemic. Much work remains, and I am committed to strengthening our health care system, supporting small business and struggling individuals, getting financial support to our towns and cities and making sure no one is left behind as we work to recover from COVID-19. At the same time I will continue my efforts to improve access to care for our veterans, stand up for women’s reproductive rights and autonomy, put our state on a path to the clean energy economy of the future and expand economic opportunity for all.”
"I've known Annie Kuster for more than 15 years, so I know that as an adoption attorney, she sat with hundreds of birth mothers making the most difficult, the most private, and the most consequential decisions of their lives," said State Senator Cindy Rosenwald. "Annie brings this empathy and compassion to her work in Congress. The rights of women to make their own personal health care decisions are under attack from the Trump Administration, Congressional Republicans, and in states all across the country. And in Congress, I know that Annie Kuster is fighting every day to protect women's health, and the ability for women to make their own health care decisions.”
"As a veteran, I know that throughout her time in Congress, Annie has been a tireless advocate for me and for all of the state's veterans," said retired teacher and US Air Force veteran Philip Huckins. "All of Annie's work for veterans makes one thing perfectly clear: taking care of veterans is deeply personal to her. As the daughter of a WWII Prisoner of War, she understands the needs of veterans, and that is why she has spent her time in Congress fighting for every New Hampshire vet. Washington may be crippled by partisan gridlock, but Annie has proven that she can cut through the bickering, build consensus, and deliver results for Granite State veterans. I am proud to support Annie’s campaign."
"I’m proud to support Congresswoman Annie Kuster’s re-election campaign," said Family Physician Dr. Vasuki Nagaraj, MD, MPH. "Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Annie Kuster has listened to medical experts and followed the science to protect Granite Staters. Since March, Annie has held 12 virtual town halls to keep her constituents informed about her work in Congress and bring together health care professionals to provide critical information to Granite Staters to keep them safe. From these conversations, Annie released her Roadmap to Recovery which outlines steps and a comprehensive approach to address both the health and economic challenges posed by COVID-19. She worked to secure hundreds of millions of dollars for New Hampshire hospitals to ensure they can remain open during this crisis and so frontline doctors and nurses have the personal protective equipment they need."
"As a small business owner, I’m proud to stand alongside Annie Kuster, just like she has stood alongside small businesses in Congress," said CEO of Ink Factory and Vegataball and Sullivan County Commissioner, Jeff Barrett. "Back in March, our business shut down to help protect the health of our community. We immediately lost 35% of our business with the cancellation of school events, sports, and summer camps cancelling orders because of COVID-19. Because of Annie’s work to pass the Paycheck Protection Program, I was able to bring my employees back to work and it equipped my business with the financial flexibility to increase marketing and sales to help negate the impacts of this pandemic."
