Kuster Releases First Television Ad Highlighting Support for Small Businesses During COVID-19 Pandemic
(Concord, NH) - Today Annie Kuster is releasing her first television ad of the 2020 election cycle. The 30-second ad features Michael Herrmann, owner of Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord, discussing the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on his business and the importance of the support of Congresswoman Kuster.
Kuster worked to pass the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) in April and since then has fought to strengthen and improve the program to make it work better for Granite State small businesses. She called on House Leadership to increase funding and establish more flexibility in the program. Kuster helped pass into law reforms to bolster the program, increase uses for PPP funding, extend the rehiring deadline, and expand the terms of PPP loans from two years to five years.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has posed a serious challenge to small businesses and the economy in New Hampshire,” said Annie Kuster. “Across our state small businesses and individuals stepped up and took measures to slow the spread of the virus, in many cases at their own economic expense. We need to ensure that small businesses in New Hampshire are supported through this crisis so that our communities can come out stronger on the other side of this pandemic. It’s critical that we ensure recovery funding is not wasted and is going to the right place. That’s why I demanded the federal government release information on who is getting COVID-19 loans and recovery tax dollars to stop waste and get assistance to those who need it most. I’m committed to working across the aisle to make sure no one is left behind as we recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
