(Washington D.C.) - The League of Conservation Voters (LCV) Action Fund, which works to elect pro-environment candidates, announced its endorsement of Annie Kuster for re-election to the U.S. House of Representatives from New Hampshire’s 2nd Congressional District.
“In Congress, Representative Annie Kuster has advocated for building a clean energy economy to protect our environment, create jobs, and make clean air accessible for all,” said LCV Action Fund Senior Vice President of Government Affairs Tiernan Sittenfeld. “We are proud to support her for re-election because we know she will continue to fight for environmental justice and equitable solutions to the climate crisis.”
“Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster is a consistent climate change action champion,” said League of Conservation Voters New Hampshire State Director Rob Werner. “Her detailed and ambitious clean energy proposals lead the way in creating economic opportunity and jobs while protecting our environment. The League of Conservation Voters Action Fund strongly endorses Congresswoman Kuster for re-election.”
"I am proud to receive the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters Action Fund," said Annie Kuster. "Climate change poses a serious threat to our economy and environment in New Hampshire, and it's going to take coordinated and long-term effort to prevent its worst effects. That's why I am fighting for legislation in Congress to reduce carbon pollution and build the clean energy economy of the future. Our children and future generations require action now which is why I've unveiled a Clean Energy Agenda which includes legislation to create a clean energy future of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and clean transportation in the Granite State. I stand with the LCV in their mission to build a future with clean air, clean water, public lands, and a safe climate that are protected by a just and equitable democracy."
Representative Annie Kuster was first elected to Congress in 2012. Recently, she unveiled a Clean Energy Agenda, which includes a comprehensive set of bills to address climate change and build a clean energy economy. She also authored an Opportunity and Justice for All Agenda, which addresses systemic racism in the U.S. by ensuring access to the ballot box, housing, health care, and calls for environmental justice for all. Kuster has cosponsored several bills that advance environmental justice, including the Blue Collar to Green Collar Jobs Development Act, the FRESHER Act, and the Climate Smart Ports Act. She is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Prior to taking office, Representative Kuster served as a longtime community activist and adoption attorney who focused her career on increasing opportunity for Granite State families. In 2019, Representative Kuster earned a 97% on LCV’s National Environmental Scorecard.
